Patrick de Veyra (b. 1982) is a Manila-based visual artist, art educator, writer, and
curator. He graduated magna cum laude with a studio arts degree at the University
of the Philippines Diliman College of Fine Arts in 2005. He is also an alumnus of
the Philippine High School for the Arts (PHSA) and recipient of the Outstanding
Artist Award for Visual Arts and the Makiling Academe and Research Institute for
the Arts (MARIA) Scholarship Award, an honorific scholarship awarded by the
Cultural Center of the Philippines to PHSA’s top five graduates.
During his formative years as a visual artist, he was mentored by Prof. Ricarte
Puruganan, one of the “Thirteen Moderns” in Philippine art history.
He has mounted solo shows at the Ayala Museum, West Gallery, the Philippine
National Bank Financial Center, and Art Cube Gallery and has been included in
several joint and group exhibitions at the Cultural Center of the Philippines, GSIS
Museum, Art Fair Philippines, the University of the Philippines Diliman College of
Fine Arts Gallery, West Gallery, Underground Gallery, White Walls Gallery,
Mag:net, Faculty Projects, and Pintô Museum.
